About Us

St Richard’s Hospice cares for patients and families in Worcestershire who are living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Each year we give free care and support to around 2,200 patients and their families – helping them towards the best quality of life possible.

St Richard's is an independent registered charity. There are 150 full and part time staff led by our Senior Management Team and Our Governors.

St Richard's was established in 1984. Read more about our History and how our services grew.

Mission Statement  - "Caring for Life"
St Richard's Hospice exists to enhance, through specialist palliative care and education, the quality of life of patients and those important to them, suffering from cancer or other life-threatening illness.

Standards

As with all other health care organisations, the work of St Richard's Hospice is subject to inspection and  regulation. Within the organisation we practice Clinical Governance and fully comply with the Care Standard's Act 2000. All staff and volunteers are governed by strict confidentiality policy and abide by professional practice guidelines.
In order to protect our staff at work in the community, they now carry devices that can monitor and record conversations. They can summon support services and the  recordings can be used in court proceedings.
