Do you have some spare time?
If so, we are often looking for volunteers to join us and have a number of different opportunities available. We are flexible and happy for people to volunteer on a regular or occasional basis. We have many different volunteer roles reflecting volunteers’ individual skills, interests and availability.
You could be part of our team. You could join around 900 existing volunteers who help in many areas of the hospice and without whom we could not provide our care. The hospice is open 365 days a year, with volunteers helping at some time every day.

The Complementary Therapy team need more volunteer multi-therapists qualified in Aromatherapy, Massage, Reflexology, Reiki and Shiatsu preferably with two or more years working experience. We use complementary therapy to treat specific symptoms as well as to promote a sense of relaxation and well being.
Please could we ask you to consider giving some time to this worthwhile cause as well as increasing your experience as a complementary therapist? If you have any questions and/or can give some time then please contact Niki or Stella on therapies@strichards.org.uk .
An essential part of the hospice work is enabling patients to access the care available, using either a minibus or in a private car.
We are currently in need of additional car drivers and minibus escorts to transport patients to and from the Day Hospice.
Most volunteer drivers have a weekly schedule to bring patients from near where they live in their own car one day each week but others provide occasional help as needed. The minibus escorts accompany the two minibuses the Hospice owns. The Day Hospice lasts from 10.30 to 15.00 each week-day and the driver can return home between these times. The Hospice pays a mileage allowance. Please contact Libby Harris at the Hospice (01905-763963 or volunteers@strichards.org.uk) if you are interested or know someone else who might like to help.
