St Richard's depends on volunteers in almost all of its work to fulfil its goal of providing free care to patients and support to their families.
- We are flexible and happy for people to volunteer on a regular or occasional basis
- We have many different roles (see Join our volunteer team) reflecting volunteers' individual skills, interests and availability.
- The Hospice is open 365 days a year, with volunteers helping at some time each day or week.

We are currently looking for volunteers in the following departments:
Deja Vue Shop
Volunteers are needed for the Deja Vue shop, on Belle Vue Terrace in Malvern. This is a new concept operating a dress agency linked with charity couture clothing which has been re-styled to be individual. It also houses our vintage and retro clothing and offers a very different and unique experience for St Richard’s Hospice customers – a chance to sell high end clothing and donors can receive a share of profits whilst helping to support our cause.
Because of the way it operates, Deja Vue needs staff who can accurately fill in stock sheets for incoming and outgoing items. Also with its focus on high end clothing, staff need a flair for fashion.

We have volunteering opportunities available at St. Richard's Hospice for counselling students who are looking for voluntary placements and for qualified counsellors who are trained to at least level 5.
Student Placement (Voluntary) we are offering placements for students who are currently studying on a recognised course for a counselling qualification.
Qualified Counsellors (Voluntary) We are looking for qualified counsellors who are trained to at least level 5 and are BACP accredited or equivalent or working towards this qualification, which will need to be evidenced. You will need to have sufficient time available to see a minimum of 2 clients for one-to-one counselling sessions per week. Experience of working with bereaved clients is preferable but not essential as training can be provided.
Due to the specialist nature of this client work, the recruitment of students and counsellors will be a carefully assessed process.

Qualified Complementary Therapists
We are looking for volunteers who are qualified in the following complementary therapies – Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Reiki, Shiatsu, Relaxation and Visualisation techniques.
Volunteer Complementary Therapists need to be members of their appropriate professional body, be fully insured and have 3 to 5 years practical experience.
We ask that our volunteers commit to work at least one session fortnightly. Sessions are roughly broken down as follows: 9.30 – 1.30 / 1.30 – 5.30 / or an evening.
Due to the specialist nature of this work, you will be required to submit to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
St Richard’s Hospice Community Volunteers is a scheme being launched to help those who have life threatening illnesses and who want to remain at home. It will provide practical help and in turn allow them to spend quality time with their friends and family. Drivers. We are currently in need of additional car drivers and minibus drivers to transport patients to and from the Day Hospice.
Minibus Escorts. There is an urgent need for people to accompany the minibus drivers to bring in patients for the Day Hospice. What is required is to assist them to the minibus; help them settle in the bus; help them during the journey if required and to assist with them into the Hospice. While a regular commitment would be best, being able to provide occasional help would also be very valuable. Why not accompany a minibus to help make up your mind?
We are looking for volunteers to work in the laundry at the Hospice.
We have a need for more help at the Warehouse. Areas of work include:
Admin – reception, Ebay, cleaning, Gift Aid
Sorting donations – clothing, books, bric-brac, paintings, toys.
Selection of goods for shops.

Can you help sorting and pricing donations behind the scenes at the St Swithins shop, any day, any time?
AM/ PM - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday - PM - Thursday and Sunday.
There are also vacancies throughout the week driving the van to pick up deliveries
AM/ PM - Sundays
PM - Tuesday, Friday and Saturday
Volunteers are always needed to help with the sorting, pricing and display of over six thousand books.
AM/PM - throughout the week.
Volunteers are needed to assist with all aspects of the shop.
Barnards Green Shop
Greatest need on Tuesdays, Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays.
Also, volunteers who are flexible, to be on-call to fill in for absences.
