Events and Collections
The fundraising team are looking for volunteers to help with our summer events to ensure that are a success. Volunteer support is essential to the smooth running of our events and we would love to hear from anyone who can spare a few hours.
Saturday 20th May 2017 – Malvern Hills Walk
We are looking for volunteers to help with marshalling and register walkers from 8:30am onwards. We are also looking for someone who is interested in walking to ‘shadow’ our current volunteer with putting out markers for the event on the route, who can then assist with this in future years.
Sunday 21st May 2017 – Worcester Full and Half Marathon
We are looking for volunteers from 9:00am onwards to help with marshalling at the Worcester Marathon which starts at the Sixways Stadium and hand out bananas to the finishers.
Saturday 3rd June 2017 – Ladies Day
We are looking for volunteers to sell raffle tickets from 12:00pm onwards at Ladies Day at Worcester Racecourse.
Saturday 17th June 2017 – Superhero Challenge
We are looking for volunteers during the morning and afternoon to help with marshalling of the giant obstacles and register participants at the Superhero Challenge at the University of Worcester Lakeside Campus.
Sunday 2nd July 2017 – Bikeathon
We are looking for volunteers to help with marshalling and register participants in from 8:30am onwards at the Bikeathon that starts and finishes at the Hospice in Wildwood Drive.
Sunday 23rd July 2017 – Droitwich Triathlon
We are looking for volunteer to help with marshalling at the Droitwich Triathlon at the Droitwich Leisure Centre from 8:30am to 12:00pm.
Sunday 23rd July 2017 – Go Dad Run
We are looking for volunteers to marshal at the Go Dad Run event at Worcester Racecourse from 9:00am – 1:30pm.

We are looking for a volunteer to help spread the word about fundraising events and initiatives, amongst our local community. Visiting retail outlets and business parks on a regular basis to keep supporters up to date and spot opportunities for ways businesses can get involved, perhaps by taking a tin, taking part in an event or challenge or as a potential for charity of the year partnerships. A confident individual with good communication skills is essential, alongside a full driving licence. Mileage will be paid. The commitment required is for a day per week. We are always looking for volunteers to help with street and store collections. If you are interested in helping with our street and store collections please contact Jayne Sargeant on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have vacancies for volunteers to help with our tin collectors, to take responsibility for collecting and placing tins in their local area and support businesses who host our collecting tins. In particular, we are interested in anyone who can help out in the following areas:
– Bransford/ Rushwick
– Great Witley
– Worcester City Centre WR1
– St. John’s WR2
– Warndon/ Tolladine WR4
– Pershore WR10
Your own transport is essential as you will have to collect tins from various business locations and deliver them to the hospice. Ages from 18 to 85 years. Attendance at occasional meetings is also required. We estimate that 1-2 days per month would be required for this role. Please contact Clare Brown on 01905 763963 for more information.
