“I volunteer to help people” – Debbie’s story

To celebrate Volunteers’ Week, from June 1st to 7th, we are sharing stories from just a few of the fantastic people who give up their time to support St Richard’s Hospice.

Debbie Holt volunteers on our Reception at St Richard’s Hospice.

She says: “It’s very busy on Reception – people are phoning in, or they’re walking in and it’s one of the hardest things for some people to have to do.

“So, if I can help them get through that experience and help them with a smile, a helping hand or even a hug – then that’s what I get out of volunteering, just helping people.”

An array of voluntary opportunities are available both at the hospice, in the community and at its shops and warehouse.
