Christmas Day on the In-patient Unit at St Richard’s Hospice

Christmas Day on the In-patient Unit at St Richard’s is a very special time.

While this year’s celebrations were a little different, due to the pandemic, the team’s smiles, warmth, compassion and care were just the same.

The gift of time together for loved ones and their families means so much to us all here at the hospice.

On Christmas afternoon, the team welcomed families through the doors to spend precious time with their loved ones.

And, our fantastic Catering Team pulled out all the stops to dish up a delicious festive feast with all the trimmings.

IPU staff donned their festive scrubs made by volunteers, and the twinkling lights and Christmas trees in the gardens helped bring some extra festive cheer. Thank you to Webbs Garden Centres and the Kings School for helping decorate our gardens.

While the festivities were not quite the same as usual, our IPU team worked to make the hospice as homely and joyful as possible for patients and their families.

None of this would be possible without our incredible community who support our care with donations, by volunteering, sharing kind words – and so much more. Thank you.
