This education programme is aimed at senior health care professionals from across the local health economy who manage and care for patients in the end of life arena.
Each course provides an overview of the communication literature which includes;
The evidence base for training
The structure of an interview/consultation
Review of the skills that enhance communication with patients and behaviours that may block it.
The course also addresses the issues that challenge clinicians in their everyday practice.
Facilitated by approved and accredited trainers from the national Advanced Communication Skills Training Programme (Connected) the programme has been developed in line with a number of national initiatives.
