Malvern Hills Walk
1st May – 30th June 2021
Our Malvern Hills Walk is back for 2021 in a virtual format meaning our supporters can enjoy a socially distanced five or 11-mile charitable walk at any time during May and June.
Jayne Sargeant, hospice fundraiser, said: “Our Malvern Hills walk is very much part of who we are at St Richard’s, and has raised a significant amount towards the free care we provide to local patients and their loved ones. Just like last year, our supporters can still enjoy a wonderful walk on the Malvern’s for our care – just not all at once!”
“In the new format, walkers can choose their route, a date and time to take part to suit them, and we’ll provide walking notes and even a medal on completion. What we do ask is that people gain as much as they can in sponsorship to ensure we can continue to be there for people when they need us most. With many of our fundraising events cancelled and our charity shops having been closed, the coronavirus pandemic has taken its toll on charities like us.”
Everyone who signs up will receive a lovely Malvern Hills Walk Eco wooden medal.
To sign up is now completely free, however we ask everyone to pledge to raise £30 or more in sponsorship supporting our free care. Anyone who raises more than £30 will receive a lovely pair of Bamboo Clothing walking socks too! (subject to availability).

How your fundraising helps
We have kindly asked you raise as much as you can as it will all go towards the £9.3m required this year to help us continue to provide the free services to those who need it. To give you some inspiration:
- £15.63 could pay for a specialist Living Well Centre Nurse for an hour
- £90.26 could pay for a Hospice at Home Healthcare Assistant for a day
- £121.53 could pay for a Staff Nurse in the In-patient Unit for a day
- £486 could pay for a patient to receive specialist care in our In-patient Unit for one day
