Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.
Mindfulness is a simple method of mental training which enables people to deal with emotional and physical pain and distress.
There is good evidence that mindfulness is ‘effective in reducing the impact of serious conditions, such as chronic pain and cancer’ (Williams & Penman, 2011)
The mindfulness group meets monthly. You will receive a warm welcome and a taste of what it means to practise mindfulness in your day to day life.
This is a drop in group for people with a serious progressive illness and their carers. You do not need a referral to attend or need to pre-book.
Please wear comfortable clothes.
Please note as these are social events, we will not have clinical support available or provide transport. Therefore we ask that individuals coming to the group are independent or can be independent with the support of a family member or friend.
