Festive discount for hospice supporters

10th December 2019

A city hospice has teamed up with fashion retailer New Look to offer shoppers an extra ‘thank you’ for supporting its care this Christmas.

New Look has launched a customer discount scheme aimed at encouraging people to donate goods in support of hospice care – and St Richard’s Hospice is among the charities taking part.

Until Monday, January 13, anyone who donates a full bag of goods to the hospice shops in St Swithin’s Street, Worcester, Evesham High Street and the Malvern Department Store will receive a 20 per cent off New Look voucher.

Dan Corns, Commercial Director at St Richard’s, said: “We are delighted to be taking part in this fantastic campaign.

“It’s a great way to boost good-quality donations, helping us raise funds for our care – while giving something back to our wonderful donors.”

The scheme is running in partnership with national charity Hospice UK and more than 200 hospice shops are taking part across the UK.

Nigel Oddy, Chief Executive Officer at New Look, said: “As a company, we really care about being kind to our people and to our planet, therefore we want to make it easy for our customers to recycle their unwanted clothes whilst helping to reduce the amount of clothing waste that ends up in landfill.

“New Look is very excited about this partnership with Hospice UK to encourage our customers to donate their once-loved clothes to their local hospice shop. Following the successful pilot for this initiative over the summer, we are delighted to be rolling this out nationally.”

Every item bought in one of St Richard’s Hospice’s shops helps the charity to provide care for patients living with serious, progressive illnesses, their loved ones and bereaved people across Worcestershire.

Meghan Booth, Business Development Manager at Hospice UK said: “It is wonderful to have such as well-recognised brand as New Look working in partnership with us.

“Its support makes such a big difference in helping to increase public awareness about the care available to people with life-limiting conditions and their families.”

The way we work has been adapted, with many of our services delivered remotely – such as over the phone, or by video call. And we are working closely with other health care professionals in Worcestershire to share knowledge and expertise at this time.
