Just because we are experiencing unprecedented times it doesn’t mean that Christmas has to be cancelled, far from it! Now is the ideal time to start planning your virtual festivities with your work colleagues.
Here at St Richard’s we’ve put together a few festive, fundraising ideas where you can have some virtual fun with your colleagues and raise much-needed funds towards the care of our patients and their loved ones this Christmas. You could even extend some of these ideas to your family and friends!
Can you be a Xmas Party Hero?
You may have heard about the Xmas Party Heroes Campaign encouraging businesses to donate any unused money they would have spent on their Christmas celebrations to a charity of their choice.
If your organisation is considering taking part we’d love it if you could keep our patients and their loved ones front of mind this year.
And, of course, you can still hold a gathering over Zoom, or another platform, with festive attire mandatory. We can provide you with reindeer ears and noses for a suggested company donation of £5 per person!
Colleagues may also wish to make their own contributions by donating what they would have spent on taxi fares or a new Christmas party outfit. Any gift great or small would be truly appreciated by us all.
There are no end of opportunities for virtual festive feasts with the team from a Mince Pie Bake-Off or Best Buffet Challenge to a Christmas Dinner Come Dine With Me, with colleagues awarding marks for presentation, variety and quality. With all entrants making a donation to hospice care too those feasts could taste even sweeter!
Why not put your colleagues’ Crimbo knowledge to the test by organising a festive Quiz? A donation to enter and prizes for the winners.
Christmas Jumper & Accessories Day
Take part in the obligatory Christmas Jumper day and donate to wear your jumper and Christmas accessories as you would in the office. Prizes for the best dressed!
Decorate your work space
A donation to enter the competition and prizes for the best, festive, workspace based on a colleague vote.
Stunning Christmas Cakes to raffle amongst your colleagues
Each year the Wychavon Branch of the Sugar craft Guild create beautifully, handcrafted Christmas Cakes which are donated to the hospice to raffle or auction off.
Could you perhaps take one of our cakes and start your own raffle amongst your colleagues, friends or family? For more information contact Ria on 01905 958211 or email@example.com
St Richard’s Hospice Reindeer Run
Why not take part in our Reindeer Run? Run or walk a distance of your choice during December with your work colleagues or within your social bubbles. It’s free to register and you will receive your very own reindeer antlers and red nose to wear whilst you take part.
All we ask is that you make a small donation towards our care or set up a Just Giving page. Find out more at: https://www.strichards.org.uk/event/reindeer-run/

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
From all of the staff, volunteers and patients at St Richard’s Hospice.
And, finally, for those already thinking ahead to a new year and a new charity for their organisation to support in 2021, we’d love it if you would keep our care front of mind in your decision-making. With your help, we can continue to be there for local people and their loved ones with a serious progressive illness; improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days.
