Making Sure My Will is Valid and Accurate
Creating a Will depends on many factors, whether you’re a homeowner or not, have children, are single, your assets and what they are.
We would advise that if you are in any doubt and have many considerations with creating or renewing a Will that you should speak to a solicitor. However, Farewill, our partner for creating online Wills has legal experts on hand to ask any questions during the process and once the Will is completed it’s also checked by qualified solicitors before being returned to you for signing and witnessing. Farewill is a good option for those with straightforward affairs. You can find out more here about Farewill which could help you decide which services to employ.
A solicitor can ensure that your Will is valid; they can also help you make any changes you might wish to an existing Will. Each year, St Richard’s holds two ‘Write a Will month’s’ in February and September, where local solicitors generously donate all of the associated fees to St Richard’s. Please note that the Wills are simple Wills only and that there are limited appointment available.
If you choose to leave a gift in your Will, the solicitors will need the hospices registered address and charity number which is:
St Richard’s Hospice, Wildwood Drive, Worcester, WR5 2PQ
Registered charity number 515668
Codicils are a way of giving a gift to St Richard’s without amending your existing Will. If you already have a Will and decide to leave a gift to St Richard’s, your solicitor will advise you on the best way to do this.
