Hospice guests enjoy festival fireworks

Over 150 Worcester Festival goers enjoyed a very special evening river cruise with St Richard’s Hospice to enjoy the festival finale fireworks from a unique viewpoint.

The sell-out cruise on Bank Holiday Monday offered a fun party atmosphere and the perfect position from which to watch the spectacular Worcester Festival fireworks, raising £2,700 to help the hospice continue to care for local patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Guests enjoyed a river cruise along the River Severn on The Pride of the Midlands with a glass of wine and cheese buffet before returning to Worcester to watch the fireworks display.

Charlie Homer, Community Fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice, said; “It was a great night, especially as the weather was kind to us this year. Everyone on board enjoyed a wonderful evening and a great place to view the fireworks. We are so grateful to everyone who came along on the evening, and to all those who made it possible, including Tesco Worcester who sponsored the event and donated the welcome drinks, and Croome Cuisine who donated the cheese for the buffet. The money raised could help us fund a nurse on our In-patient Unit for a month, offering specialist care and support to those at the end of their lives.”
