Hours: 37.5 hours per week (part time requests will be considered)
Salary Scale: St. Richard’s Hospice Payscale – Pay Point 11 – 12 (£24,918 - £27,472 per annum)
St. Richard’s Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days through our community teams, our newly developed state-of-the-art day centre and our seventeen beds. We offer care and encouragement to our patients, enabling them to take control of their lives as their condition changes and also offer support to their families and carers.
We currently have an opportunity for a Counsellor within the Family Support Service, to work with the Bereavement Support South Worcestershire and St Richard’s Hospice counselling services. This post will provide support for those bereaved through sudden and traumatic death, and for hospice patients and their families who are dealing with emotional and psychological problems as a consequence of a life limiting diagnosis, loss and grief.
The successful applicant will have a recognised degree or diploma in Counselling/ Psychotherapy. You will be expected to be member of BACP or other appropriate professional body and maintain your professional competence. Experience of working with palliative care and bereavement and counselling in end of life situations is preferred.
The post holder will carry an active caseload of clients dealing with complex psychological and emotional issues.
