Hours: 22.5 hours per week worked over 3 days between Monday and Friday with flexibility to work weekends as required
Salary Scale: St. Richard’s Hospice Payscale Pay Point 16 (£31,803 - £33,392 pro rata per annum)
St. Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative and end of life care for adults in South Worcestershire with a serious progressive illness through our community teams, our newly developed state-of-the-art Living Well Centre and our seventeen beds. We offer care and encouragement to our patients, enabling them to take control of their lives as their condition changes and also offer support to their families and carers.
We have an exciting opportunity for a caring, compassionate and committed professional to join us as a Health and Safety Officer.
This is an exciting time to join the Hospice as we are currently expanding and undergoing a £5.2m building project in order to be able to improve the facilities on our site in Wildwood Drive and provide support to more patients and families in Worcestershire.
The post holder will co-ordinate, support and advise the hospice on all aspects of health and safety within the main hospice building, the St. Richard’s charity shops across the county and Warehouse.
The successful applicant will have a NEBOSH General Certificate and be trained in COSHH, DSE, Moving & Handling and Fire Safety as well as having excellent communication and interpersonal skills. At least 3 years recent experience in a similar role within healthcare and retail environments are essential requirements for this role along with experience of formulating, implementing and revising Health & Safety policies and procedures. Previous experience of training staff in various areas of Health and Safety are also required.
