Patient Services Administrators

Job Reference: 231

Hours: 2 x Part Time Vacancies: Post 1 - 22.5 hours per week worked over 3 days on a rota basis to include weekends and Post 2 – 22.5 hours per week worked Fridays-Sundays

Salary Scale: St. Richard’s Hospice Payscale Pay Point 6 (£19,525 - £20,501 pro rata per annum)

St. Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative and end of life care for adults in South Worcestershire with a life limiting condition through our community teams, our newly developed state-of-the-art day centre and our seventeen beds. We offer care and encouragement to our patients, enabling them to take control of their lives as their condition changes and also offer support to their families and carers.

We are currently seeking 2 enthusiastic, hardworking and passionate individuals to join the Patient Services Administration team which provides a responsive administration service to facilitate the smooth running of our Gateway, Family Support, Community Nursing and In-patient Unit teams.

This is an exciting time to join the Hospice as we are currently expanding and undergoing a £5.2m building project in order to be able to improve the facilities on our site in Wildwood Drive and provide support to more patients and families in Worcestershire.

The Patient Services Administrators are a small team who work flexibly in conjunction with other administrative staff to ensure that all departments are able to function efficiently.  You will need to be flexible to work between the different services and able to communicate confidently with professionals.   Whilst both posts require weekend working, post 1 will work 3 days per week, Mondays-Sundays on a rota basis, whilst Post 2 will work Fridays-Sundays.

These are varied roles which require excellent communication skills both face to face and on the telephone as you will be a point of contact for visitors to the In-patient Unit as well as liaising with anxious patients and families on the telephone as part of the Community Nursing Service.  Previous experience in a similar role within a healthcare setting would be an advantage and strong administration skills, attention to detail and a compassionate and caring nature are essential.

This post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service check.
