The role

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the St Richard’s Leadership team as our Head of Inpatient Unit.

With experience of managing large teams the post holder will have a pivotal role leading and managing the Inpatient clinical services, improving patient outcomes, working effectively across the Inpatient Unit and wider hospice team, to positively influence the experience of patients, their families and staff.

The Head of Inpatient Unit will have responsibilities in five main areas of work, including, clinical, leadership & managerial, education, service development/quality improvement and financial.

The purpose of the Inpatient Unit (IPU) is to deliver exceptional compassionate specialist palliative care to adult patients, their carers and those significant to them within a culture that is positive and professional putting patient’s needs at the heart.

About you

The successful applicant will be a registered nurse (Adult) on the NMC register be educated to degree level and clear evidence of post graduate professional development. In addition to substantial management and leadership experience of a large team and a recognised management leadership qualification.

You will have demonstrable people management skills, with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships, with experience of nurturing a culture of continuous learning and staff development.

This is an exciting opportunity to enhance and develop your leadership skills and experience in a clinical operational leadership role in an organisation that is passionate about providing exceptional patient care.
