Hospitality Volunteer (Weekends) – Patients

Key activities will include:

  • supporting within our in patient unit
  • Making coffees and other drinks , relatives, patients and visitors
  • Assist Catering Team members with meal preparation
  • Delivering food and drinks to patient rooms

This is a great opportunity for a social, chatty, person who works well with other team members and the public.

General information:

  • All volunteers who regularly come to the hospice, or have patient contact, are subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks
  • Volunteers are required to comply with hospice policies and procedures including confidentiality
  • All volunteers are expected to attend induction training and annual mandatory updates relevant to their role

What skills will I need?

  • Approachable, trustworthy and adaptable
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as to own initiative
  • Empathy and caring nature
  • Comfortable speaking to the members of the public
  • Previous café experience is preferred but not a necessary requirement

Information on training provided

  • Full induction and training will be provided
  • Support and guidance by other members of staff
  • Please note this role is for weekends and being flexible would work well
