Key activities will include:
- supporting within our in patient unit
- Making coffees and other drinks , relatives, patients and visitors
- Assist Catering Team members with meal preparation
- Delivering food and drinks to patient rooms
This is a great opportunity for a social, chatty, person who works well with other team members and the public.
General information:
- All volunteers who regularly come to the hospice, or have patient contact, are subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks
- Volunteers are required to comply with hospice policies and procedures including confidentiality
- All volunteers are expected to attend induction training and annual mandatory updates relevant to their role
What skills will I need?
- Approachable, trustworthy and adaptable
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as to own initiative
- Empathy and caring nature
- Comfortable speaking to the members of the public
- Previous café experience is preferred but not a necessary requirement
Information on training provided
- Full induction and training will be provided
- Support and guidance by other members of staff
- Please note this role is for weekends and being flexible would work well
