A celebration of light and love

Dedicate a Light of Love and join us to celebrate and remember all those who hold a special place in our hearts.

For almost two decades St Richard’s has held Lights of Love events in our community. This year, we will still reflect on the wonderful people who have touched our lives, particularly those who are loved and no longer with us. But as the coronavirus pandemic changes many areas of our lives, it will also make this year’s Lights of Love slightly different, but just as heartfelt.

Virtual service

Lights of Love will shine out as usual from our Christmas tree at St Andrew’s Spire, Worcester, during the festive season.

However, rather than gathering together at services around the county, we are asking you to join us at a virtual Lights of Love event from the comfort of your own home – you can find this virtual service lower down this page.

Our hospice Chaplain Clare Griffiths, leads this 10-minute service, dedicating the Lights of Love, lighting a candle and reflecting on those we cherish. You will also see the Lights of Love sparkle as they are switched on at the tree in St Andrew’s Spire, Worcester. We would love you to share this special time with us, and others in the community, coming together and supporting each other in spirit.

Make a Dedication

To make a donation to support our care, dedicate a Light of Love and let your memories shine this Christmas, please click on the button below.

As well as dedicating the name of someone special, you will be able to include a message and photo on the virtual Christmas trees which you can share with family and friends. Dedications made after 5pm on Wednesday 16th December will not appear on banners around our tree at St Andrew’s Spire or in the Worcester News on Christmas Eve.

Your support is greatly appreciated by the hospice and by our patients and families, particularly at this time of uncertainly for us all.
