Lowesmoor Furniture Shop (temporarily closed)

Notice to our customers and supporters – 24th March 2020

With a heavy heart, we have taken the decision to temporarily close our furniture store in Lowesmoor, Worcester, along with all 18 other shops and our warehouse in Worcestershire. This is to protect staff, volunteers, donors and customers from the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

We have the most fantastic support from the people of Worcestershire and we very much look forward to welcoming everyone back when the government advises it is safe to open our doors once again.

In the mean-time, we are kindly asking our supporters not to leave donations outside our shops. We are also suspending all furniture and other donation collections for the time being.

However we are ready and waiting to collect your furniture donations just as soon as we can to help raise funds towards St Richard’s care of patients and loved ones. In the meantime we would really appreciate it if you are having a clear out that you save your furniture items for us.

To help us plan for collections please could you:
• Email a photo and description of the item to Furniture@strichards.org.uk
• Include your full name, address including post code and telephone number
• Add your gift aid number if you have signed up to the scheme previously
To help us collect promptly, easy access would be appreciated i.e. collect from garage if possible. Thank you.

You can read our full statement here. Thank you for your patience and understanding at this difficult time.

Our Lowesmoor Home Store shop is an amazing place to find items to furnish your first flat or your starter home predominantly selling second hand furniture.  We also sell clothes and a large section of dvds and cds.

The ever increasing quality of donations given to us are now seeing people replacing their furniture on a more regular basis.

Coupled with furniture we have a large electrical department and bric-a-brac. The turnover of furniture is vast and we have fresh stock every day. Both Lowesmoor Home Store and our shops in Evesham High Street and our Malvern Department Store, offer a fantastic selection of very good quality budget brand new beds and new oak furniture to enhance our donated sales.

Our vans collect furniture for our Lowesmoor shop in the Worcester and Himbleton Droitwich areas.

If you have recently visited one of our shops we should be grateful if you would complete our short customer service survey, thank you.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

During this challenging time, we are doing our utmost to continue caring for the patients and loved ones who need us most.

The way we work has been adapted, with many of our services delivered remotely – such as over the phone, or by video call. And we are working closely with other health care professionals in Worcestershire to share knowledge and expertise at this time.

Latest changes at St Richard’s Hospice

  • In-patient Unit: It is with great sadness that due to stringent infection control measures, we are required to restrict visiting and cannot offer the comprehensive level of service in the way we usually do. However, we will still do our utmost to make sure that each patient and loved one is given the compassion and dignity they deserve. To help families stay in touch we are encouraging virtual visiting using technology such as video calls and apps. This will be discussed and explained to patients and families on admission and we can help provide access to equipment in the hospice. In addition, the IPU nursing team will liaise with each patient and family to arrange short daily visits from the patient's closest loved one and compassionate visiting, as appropriate. Read the full details here.
  • Community Nursing: Community services continue to operate, with a mixture of hands-on care and remote support.
  • Living Well and Family Support Services: Switched to virtual model, with care given remotely over the phone or via video call.
  • Shops: All 19 of our shops and warehouse are temporarily closed. Please do not leave donations outside our shops, as we are unable to collect them at this time.
  • Fundraising: All hospice organised events until the end of August have been postponed. If you wish to support us, please donate to our Resilience Fund.

Please do not visit St Richard’s Hospice if you have a high temperature or new, continuous cough. If you have these symptoms, please stay at home and self-isolate for seven days. See NHS advice on coronavirus.

Thank you for your support and understanding at this difficult time.
