Stride out over Malvern Hills for hospice care

Families and friends are being invited to stride out across the Malvern Hills for a hospice’s 35th annual fundraising walk.

The St Richard’s Hospice Malvern Hills Walk takes place on Saturday, May 18 – with two, five and 11-mile routes available.

The walk is a popular fixture in the hospice’s events calendar and has been running every year since St Richard’s was launched in 1984.

Last year’s walk raised £32,500 – the most the event has ever raised for the Worcester-based hospice.

Jayne Sargeant, hospice fundraiser, said: “We can’t wait to welcome everyone along for a great day out on the Malvern Hills.

“This event is so well-loved by our community and we thoroughly enjoy seeing everyone out on the hills, walking in support of our hospice care.

“Last year’s walk was absolutely incredible and we were so thrilled with the amount raised. We hope you can join us to raise even more this year!”

Both the two and five-mile walks are circular, starting from 10am at Black Hill Car Park. Admin fee is £10 for adults and £5 for under 16s.

The 11-mile walk will see participants trek the length of the hills from Chase End.

Those taking on the 11-mile route will be transported to the start by coach, leaving from North Quarry Car Park at 7.30am. Admin fee is £14 for adults and £7 for under 16s.

The hospice is asking participants to raise £50 or more. All those who do so, will be entered into a prize draw to win a family meal for four at Ask, Great Malvern.

The Malvern Hills Walk is sponsored by Astons Coaches and is supported by the Malvern Hills Trust.
