Teams to Compete in 80’s Retro Quiz

Local businesses are being invited to put together a team of four colleagues, friends or family and take part in a ‘Back in the Day’ Retro 80s Quiz to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice.

Business owners Julia Williams, of Premier Places, and Sarah Mayo-Evans, of Peach Recruitment, have organised the ‘Back in the Day’ quiz, which will take place on Tuesday 16th September and will be compered by BBC Hereford & Worcester radio presenter Elliot Webb.

The fundraising quiz will test each team’s knowledge of the 1980s, a decade of glamour and social change; of ambition, entrepreneurs and technological innovation. What was topical in the news? Which TV shows were people talking about? Teams will pit their memories of 80s music, film, fashion and literary best-sellers against others to be crowned the ultimate retro champions.

Julia Williams, Director of Premier Places, said; “Both Sarah and I enjoy quizzes and thought it would be a great way to gather local businesses together, reminisce and have lots of fun. Many local businesses have already signed up to the quiz and have been busy swatting up so we are expecting a healthy dose of competitive spirit!”

“I’m proud to be a Business Patron for St Richard’s Hospice. I had a tour of the hospice three years ago and I was touched by how the hospice supports patients and their families. It was at that point I knew I wanted to commit to raising much needed funds to ensure the hospice continues to care, not only now but also for future generations.”

Sarah Mayo-Evans, Director of Peach Recruitment, added; “We are both 80s babies and 80s retro seems to be really popular at the moment. All the fashion and toys have come back in trend and there have been many remakes and reruns of TV and films from the decade, so it seemed a good idea for a bit of fun and fundraising at the same time.”

Money raised will be shared between St Richard’s Hospice and Worcester Rowing Club.
