Time to tee off for hospice care

Golfers are being invited to join St Richard’s Hospice for a fundraising day on the fairway in Droitwich.

The annual September Golf Day, hosted by the Worcester hospice, will take place on Wednesday, September 4 at Droitwich Golf Club.

A total of 15 teams took part in the event last year, raising £7,364 to help St Richard’s provide care to patients with serious, progressive illnesses, their families and bereaved people in Worcestershire.

Ria Simons, Fundraiser at St Richard’s, said: “We are really looking forward to a fun day of friendly competition on the fairway this September.

“This is always a great day out and we have been very well supported in the past, helping to raise a fantastic amount for our care.

“We hope to see even more teams join us this year, helping raise the funds we need to continue our care to patients and their loved ones.”

Hallmark Hulme Solicitors, based in Worcester, is sponsoring the event.

Julian Powell, Business Director at Hallmark Hulme, said: “Hallmark Hulme Solicitors is proud to continue its support of the autumn St Richard’s Hospice Golf Day – we have been associated with the event since its inception over 25 years ago.”

Entry for a team of four costs £300 and includes a bacon roll and hot drinks on arrival.

Participants will tee off between 12pm and 2pm and play 18-holes before an informal, two-course evening meal along with an awards presentation for the first three teams, nearest the pin, the longest drive and 2s competition. There will also be a raffle and auction.
