Hospitality Assistants

Hospitality Assistants

St. Richard’s Hospice are looking for people to make a difference to the lives of others every day.

We are currently seeking people to join us as Volunteer Hospitality Assistants to serve meals to the patients on the In-Patient Unit. This is a seven-day a week service, and we are looking for volunteers predominantly at weekends.

Patients may be in the In-Patient Unit to receive palliative and end of life care, pain management or symptom control. Hospice care is based on a holistic individualised approach and we view catering as being of significant importance to the patients.

The volunteers will discuss menu options with the patients, after liaising with the nursing staff and the catering team and then serve the three-course meals to the patients.

This role is rewarding but can sometimes be emotionally challenging.

Good communication skills including listening skills and being flexible and physically fit are essential for this role.
