Weekend Reception Volunteers
We are looking for people to make a difference to the lives of others every day.
St. Richard’s Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days through our community teams, our newly developed state-of-the-art day centre and our seventeen beds. We offer care and encouragement to our patients, enabling them to take control of their lives as their condition changes and also offer support to their families and carers.
The Hospice’s Reception is a recently reconfigured, homely and light area where visitors are greeted with a warm and understanding welcome and we are currently seeking new volunteers to join the existing team on a weekend. Shifts will be 9:30am – 1:00pm and 1:30pm – 4:30pm.
This role is enjoyable and rewarding but can sometimes be challenging.
Good communication skills including listening skills and the ability to be sensitive to the varied needs of others are essential for this role.
