St Richard’s is committed to being a place where everyone feels welcome.
Whether you are cared for by us, employed by us, volunteer for us, or support us in any way, we want to be accessible and inclusive to you.
We believe people should have equitable access to our services and opportunities, and to be treated with kindness and respect.
We are committed to overcoming economic, cultural, social, and geographical barriers within our community. We welcome and value all forms of difference and diversity without exception.
However, we know there is more work to do.
What are we doing about this?
We are currently focusing on how we collect and record personal data such as gender, ethnicity, spoken languages, and individual communication needs. This will help us tailor care to people’s individual needs.
We continue to engage with our diverse communities to reach people who feel the hospice cannot meet their needs, or who may face barriers to accessing our care.
We work with patients and the people important to them, including biological or chosen families and carers, to truly understand their individual needs and strive to meet them.
And we mark a range of national awareness campaigns to promote learning and information sharing among our workforce.
We want to hear from you
We want to hear your feedback and ideas about how we can be more inclusive and accessible to you and your community.
