A HOSPICE is hosting a volunteer drop-in event at its soon-to-open superstore in Stourport.
St Richard’s Hospice is looking for volunteers to support its newest and biggest store, which is due to open in Tannery Retail Park, Lombard Street, on Saturday, July 5.
Anyone interested in volunteering at the superstore can drop-in to the event at the store between 10am and 1pm on Friday, June 20.
There will be the chance to meet the team, look around the store as it prepares to open, and find out what’s involved in volunteering.
Gemma Timmis, Volunteer Engagement Officer at St Richard’s, said: “As our first ever superstore, this will be such an exciting and varied place for volunteers to get stuck in and support our care.
“A range of tasks and hours are available to suit each volunteer’s schedules and interests—we are grateful for any support!
“Volunteering is not only a great way to meet new people, make friends and learn skills—it makes a real difference to St Richard’s, helping us continue our free care for patients and their loved ones.”
The hospice’s retail volunteers are its face in the community, with 18 shops across Worcestershire.
The charity’s retail income is in the region of £3 million each year, with the profits helping fund its care and support of patients, their families and bereaved people.
