WALKERS strode out in the sunshine across the Malvern Hills last weekend to raise more than £29,000 for a hospice charity.
The 41st St Richard’s Hospice Malvern Hills Walk saw 221 walkers take on a two, five or 11-mile hike on Saturday, May 10.
Families, friends, colleagues and individuals completed the challenge to raise £29,343, after costs, for the hospice’s care of patients and the people important to them.

Alison Parkes, Fundraiser at St Richard’s, said: “Saturday’s event was brilliant and we couldn’t have asked for better weather!
“To see all our walkers striding out across the hills in aid of hospice care was just fantastic, with many people stepping out in memory of loved ones.
“This is our longest-running fundraising event, and we are always blown away by the support of our community who take part year-on-year to raise brilliant totals for our care.
“It will cost in the region of £12 million to run the hospice this year, and events like the Malvern Hills Walk are so important in helping raise the funds we need.”
