Course Lead: Deborah Topping of DT Information Governance Ltd, who is a qualified and experienced professional in the information governance field and has the experience to facilitate an interactive training course. She has current experience of delivering Caldicott Guardian training to a number of health and social care organisations, together with all aspects of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)/data protection training to public and private sector health and care organisations.
Organisations that use patient and service user’s confidential information are obliged to have a nominated member of staff for the Caldicott Guardian (CG) responsibilities.
This is a half day course that will provide an overview of the role of the CG, the revised Caldicott Principles, key responsibilities, when the CG should be involved in decisions, working with others, and updates on relevant legislation and guidance.
The course will use relevant exercises and scenarios that reinforce the learning. Once the course has been completed, attendees can go on to become Caldicott Guardians.
This is a condensed course which covers a full day of training.
