Learning Facilitator

Katherine Downey

Katherine is a Registered Nurse with more than 20 years’ experience across a range of settings and locations in the West Midlands, predominantly in the field of complex discharge where her roles have included Team Leader, and Matron.

Katherine joined St Richard’s Hospice in 2019 and enjoys her role as a Learning Facilitator, which she finds varied and interesting.

Her role includes planning and delivering learning internally and externally, facilitating ‘away days’ and project ECHO, and supporting staff in their individual learning journeys.

Katherine also promotes Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) within her IPC link role and she is a safeguarding advocate.

In addition to this, Katherine leads the Clinical Supervision project for the hospice and has supported a local hospice in adopting our model.
