David, Martha and Oliver are set to walk the length of the Malvern Hills to raise funds for our care next Saturday.
With fourth team member, Rob, the family group will trek the 11-mile route as part of our 39th Malvern Hills Walk.
The team are closely linked to St Richard’s. David’s wife, Sarah, is Head of Family Support, while his daughter, Martha, has volunteered with the Family Support Team and with fundraising collections.
Martha’s husband, Oliver, has helped with the Men’s Space patient support group, while Rob has supported with fundraising.
David says: “I’ve seen the amazing care and support St Richard’s offers day in day out for people in the saddest and most trying of times, bringing comfort and helping people all the way as they come to the end of their lives.
“I never cease to be humbled and astounded by the work of St Richard’s and the truly inspirational people who do so much to make it possible.”
This is the first fundraising challenge the group has taken on as a family team. The route will take them from Chase End to North Quarry, over the spectacular hills.
“I’m very grateful that the family have rallied round to accompanying me on the walk and show their support for the hospice – they may be dragging me over the finish line by the end!” says David.
“I’m really excited to be taking part in this challenge – I’ve never done a fundraiser before and to think I’ll be walking for St Richard’s is a real motivation.”
