Join hospice for annual countryside run

Runners are being invited to sign-up for an annual village run through fields and countryside in support of hospice care.

The Scenic Six, run by St Richard’s Hospice, takes place at 11am on Sunday, April 7 in and around Peopleton, near Pershore.

The event is named after the course – which is a six mile off-road, multi-terrain route. There is also a two-mile fun run, jog or walk available.

Last year, around 200 runners helped raise more than £3,800 to support the hospice’s care to patients with serious, progressive illnesses, their loved ones and bereaved people.

Jayne Sargeant, hospice fundraiser, said: “We are really looking forward to this fun event in such a picturesque setting.

“It’s a great event for people of all abilities and we would love to welcome everyone along to take part and enjoy the atmosphere on the day.

“From the team here at St Richard’s, we’d like to thank the community in Peopleton for its continued support in hosting this popular event.”

On the day there will be cakes and sandwiches along with tea and coffee served at Peopleton Village Hall for people to enjoy both before and after the run.

Registration opens at 9am in the village hall, with the run beginning promptly at 11am.

Tickets booked in advance are £12 for the six-mile race and £3 for the two-mile route. On the day, tickets are £15 and £5.
