Chance to learn more about China trek

Members of the public are being invited to sign-up for the trip of a lifetime in support of St Richard’s Hospice.

In November 2020, a team of trekkers will set off to traverse a section of the Great Wall of China over five days – staying in guesthouses along the way.

Along with walking the wall, the group will hike through the surrounding landscape taking in views of the rolling hills and mountain peaks.

St Richard’s Hospice is holding a free information evening at its base in Wildwood Drive, Worcester on Wednesday, July 17 for anyone interested in finding out more about taking part.

Jodi Brandwood, fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “We are so excited to offer this amazing opportunity to explore this fascinating structure.

“Not only will you take on a fantastic adventure, learning about the history of the wall and Chinese culture – you will help raise important funds to support our care.

“We are looking forward to welcoming the community along to find out more about this challenge at our information evening this month. Why not get involved?”

The trip is organised by Different Travel, a charity challenge tour operator, and is raising funds for St Richard’s Hospice.

The trek – which is rated moderate to challenging – takes in a remote section of the wall, from Gubeikou to Jinshanling and Simatai.
