Virtual tai chi

This week we’ve held our first virtual tai chi session with patients taking part in their own homes. Therapy Team Leader Alex, supported by physiotherapist Charlotte, was in the hospice in Worcester leading the seated tai chi class via Zoom for patients who would normally attend the face to face course.

Alex said, “Seated tai chi has so many benefits, including improving relaxation and releasing endorphins – the feelgood hormone – as well as improving strength and movement in the limbs.”

This class is just one of many ways we are helping patients and families using online video and telephone calls during the pandemic to continue our care despite the challenges.
