Cars Worcester commits to hospice care

A Worcester car dealership is throwing its support behind a city charity by committing to donate towards its care.

Cars Worcester, which is based on Bromyard Road, has signed a commercial partnership with St Richard’s Hospice which offers discounted maintenance to staff vehicles and will see it donate each time a car is leased or sold to a member of the St Richard’s team or family member, or a car sale or lease referral is made.

Sara Matthews, Business Development Manager for St Richard’s Hospice, said: “2020 has been an incredibly challenging year for everyone, including charities like us, so we’re blown away by Cars Worcester’s support for our care.

“Our staff will benefit from discounted maintenance on their vehicles and for any lease or sale made to them or their friends or family members, Cars Worcester will donate £100 to help us be there for patients and their loved ones locally. We can’t thank the team enough for keeping our care front of mind in such difficult times.”

Speaking about its partnership with the hospice, Matt Farmer of Cars Worcester, said: “As a family-run business, which has operated in Worcester for more than 40 years, we are very aware of the wonderful care that St Richard’s provides to our local community. We’re delighted to be forming this partnership and to be playing a part in supporting the hospice and its incredible team of people, who make such a difference locally.

“As we live through a second lockdown, we’re also continuing our free car care service for all NHS and other keyworkers. This free 15-minute check will ensure your car’s vital fluids are topped up and everything is checked over as Winter approaches. This service is available by appointment only so please get in touch and we’d be happy to book you in.”

St Richard’s Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days. It also supports their loved ones.

Each year the hospice team supports more than 3,300 patients, family members and bereaved people in Worcestershire.

St Richard’s is an independent charity and relies on donations and gifts in Wills for the majority of its income with 22% funded by the NHS.
