The Valley, formerly called Evesham Country Park, has this week announced that St Richard’s Hospice will be amongst its chosen local charities.
Together, the organisations plan to organise a range of activities that will enable local people to make the most of the centre’s facilities and support hospice care.
The Valley is set within a 125 acre estate, offering picturesque walks and views across the Vale of Evesham, a garden centre, farm shop, courtyard shops including Pavers Shoes and Mountain Warehouse, restaurants and a narrow gauge railway.
A designated St Richard’s clothing bank has been made available on the site, enabling local people to support their local hospice by donating their pre-loved clothing. Donations will be sold in one of the hospice’s 18 shops around the county, raising funds to help the hospice care for patients with life-threatening illnesses and support their loved ones.
The first event to be offered by the partnership will be a Christmas shopping event on Thursday 26th November, which will include choir singing around the Christmas tree.
On Sunday 6th December, St Richard’s Hospice will be holding its Santa Dash fun run, a 5km multi-terrain run around the park. Anyone interested in taking part can register via the hospice’s website www.strichards.org.uk

Many of our colleagues have experience of the excellent care the hospice offers to those at the end of their lives and we are looking forward to working with the local community to show our support for this worthwhile charity.”
St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with life-threatening illnesses and supports their families. Each year the hospice team supports over 2,600 patients and family members in Worcestershire with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
Patients are cared for in Day Hospice, the 17-bed In-patient Unit or in their own homes by a specialist professional team as well as many trained volunteers.
In the In-patient Unit, specialist staff are on hand 24 hours a day to manage patients’ symptoms and where, if appropriate, patients may spend the last few days of life in comfort and dignity. St Richard’s is an independent charity and is grateful for all donations to help it to continue its work.
