Family to take leap of faith together in memory of Dad

Three members of the same family will be taking a leap of faith in aid of St Richard’s Hospice on Father’s Day in memory of husband and father.

Kate Bennett, along with her mum Lesley Boother and brother Neil Boother, from Pershore, will be taking on the daring challenge on Sunday 19th June in memory of Colin Boother who was cared for by the hospice before his death last year.

The trio will join other intrepid hospice supporters as they experience the exhilaration of a skydive with an organised skydive at Hinton in the Hedges Airfield, Brackley. They will be cheered along on the day by Colin and Lesley’s other sons John and Tom, who worked alongside Colin and Neil in the family plumbing business.

The skydivers will experience the adrenalin rush of plunging 10,000 feet out of a plane at 120mph, harnessed to an experienced parachute instructor, before coming to a safe landing in front of friends and family.

Mrs Bennett said; “Last November we lost our lovely Dad following a short battle with cancer. Dad spent his last couple of weeks at St Richard’s Hospice. The centre was fantastic offering a peaceful haven for Dad to rest in, the staff were exceptional and cared for Dad and the whole family in such a professional but personal and caring way. In short we couldn’t have asked for kinder people or a nicer place and we want to give something back. Mum, Neil and I decided to take part in the St Richard’s skydive, which is an amazing thing for Mum as she is terrified of heights!”
