Reach your peak – take on Snowdon by night!

St Richard’s Hospice is calling for all adventurers to join a memorable challenge this September, to help raise funds for hospice care.

Snowdon by Night is a chance for groups of 8 to 12 to trek Mount Snowdon overnight, reaching the summit in time for sunrise.

The 15-mile trek will take place on Friday 8th to Saturday 9th September 2017. The walk will take about 7 to 8-hours to complete and includes an ascent of 3199 feet (975 metres.)

All groups will be accompanied by an experienced and fully qualified mountain guide. A good level of fitness and relevant training is required for this physically demanding challenge. The trekking challenge is run by Adventurous Ewe.

Adventurers are to meet at St Richard’s Hospice on Friday evening for a hot meal, before travelling to Mount Snowdon by coach. Depending on the weather, climbers will take one of two routes to the summit. They will descend the mountain while the sun rises. Participants will return to St Richard’s Hospice late morning. An optional brunch is available for climbers to purchase after they have completed the challenge.

Jodi Brandwood, St Richard’s Fundraiser said: “Trekking Snowdon during the day time forms a great challenge, but by using torches to light our way and having the moon as our back drop, summiting at night brings another sense of achievement to an already recognised trek.    This challenge offers a truly unforgettable experience. Watching the sun rise over the Snowdonia National Park is an opportunity not to be missed!”

Participants have to pledge to raise as much money as possible for the hospice as well as paying a £99 admin fee.
