Hospice benefits as golf captain’s charity

A year of fundraising events at Evesham Golf Club has raised over £1,600 for St Richard’s Hospice, the Seniors Captains’ Charity for 2014-15.

The club’s senior members held a series of fundraising events to raise money for the hospice, including raffles at two Seniors Open Golf Days and other internal competitions, along with a number of generous personal donations.

Mike Brumage, Seniors Captain, said; “I wanted to support St Richard’s during my year as Seniors Captain as it is a charity well known to our members. It has a wonderful reputation and enlisting support for the cause could not have been easier. I would like to thank everyone who helped us raise this money. I am delighted that this gift will help the hospice continue to care for those who need them.”

Charlie Homer, Community Fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice, said; “We really appreciate the Captains’ support for St Richard’s and are really grateful for this donation. The hospice cares for many patients in the Evesham area, offering care and support to help them to stay at home at the end of their lives if this is their wish, and to support their loved ones.”
