Hundreds donated to hospice thanks to employees’ safety record

Employees at an industrial gas manufacturing company have chosen a Worcester hospice to receive hundreds of pounds.

Air Products, based in Prescott Drive, Worcester, donated £850 to St Richard’s Hospice through a safety incentive scheme run by the company.

Air Products’ employees that achieve an excellent performance record are awarded a sum of money that is then donated to a charity of their choice.

Members of the Worcester team picked St Richard’s for the third year running as one of their charities to receive a donation – with the money going to support patients with life-limiting illnesses, their loved ones and bereaved people.

Lynn Willacy, Community Ambassador for Air Products, said: “It is really important to Air Products that we support the communities where we operate.

“Knowing through this programme that charities can benefit even further encourages our employees to act and consider every aspect of safe working.

“St Richard’s Hospice is well regarded locally, they do such great work, and thanks to our colleagues at our site on Prescott Drive, we’re delighted to be able to help by giving this donation.”

Ria Simons, Fundraiser at St Richard’s, said: “We’re delighted to have the support of the Air Products team – its donation is very much appreciated by us all here at the hospice.

“We are so grateful for the brilliant support of our business community.”
