Sanctuary Group Joins Rainbow Run Sponsors

Local businesses are getting involved in Worcester’s first Rainbow Run, a colourful day of fun organised by St Richard’s Hospice.

The fully booked event, which will be held at Top Barn Activity Centre on Sunday 15thMarch, has proved very popular with local people with all 750 places selling within just a few weeks.

Worcester-based leading housing and care provider Sanctuary Group, which is currently supporting St Richard’s Hospice as its local charity of the year, has joined forces with other sponsors to help make the event a success and will run one of the paint stations along the 5km route.

Participants will walk, run, skip or even dance between the paint stations where they will be showered with coloured powder.

The event offers the opportunity to have fun with friends, family and colleagues, whilst raising money to help the hospice offer compassionate care to patients with life-threatening illnesses and support their families.

Amanda Gonsalves, Sanctuary’s Group director – HR, said; “We’re really looking forward to seeing the first Rainbow Run come to Worcester and are delighted to be supporting the event. It’s a great opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to get fit, have fun and help raise money for such a worthwhile cause. A number of our staff are currently priming themselves to be covered in an array of colourful paint and we hope they and everyone else taking part will enjoy the day.”

Jodi Brandwood, Community Fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice, said; “This is a very different kind of challenge to any we have previously offered and we have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from local businesses and individuals wanting to get involved. We are very grateful to Sanctuary Group and the other event sponsors for all their support. The day is also Mother’s Day, and so offers an ideal opportunity for people to take part in a fun activity with their mother, or in memory of their mother or grandmother.”

The entire event is being kindly sponsored by RCA Regeneration whilst other paint stations are being sponsored by Travis Perkins and Tesco St Peters. Opportunities are still available for businesses to support the event. To find out more about sponsorship opportunities please contact Jodi Brandwood at or call 01905 763963.
