Time to tee off for hospice care

A hospice is inviting teams to tee off in aid of its care at a popular annual event in Droitwich.

This year’s St Richard’s Hospice Golf Day is set to take place at Droitwich Golf Club on Wednesday 5th September.

A total of 16 teams took part in the event last year, raising £7,939  to help St Richard’s provide care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, their families and bereaved people in Worcestershire.

Ria Simons, Fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “We’re calling for golfers to polish up their clubs and join us on the fairway for a fun day raising funds for our hospice care.

“Our annual golf day is always a fun event, with plenty of healthy competition on the beautiful course in Droitwich. I hope to see you there!”

Hallmark Hulme Solicitors, based in Worcester, is once again sponsoring the fun-filled event.

Julian Powell, Business Director at Hallmark Hulme, said: “We are delighted to continue our long association with St Richard’s Hospice and the annual autumn Golf Day – Hallmark Hulme has been on a journey with both since their beginnings.

“We are proud to support the Golf Day – it’s always such an amiable and entertaining event for friends and acquaintances.”

Entry for a team of four costs £300 and includes a bacon roll and hot drinks on arrival.

Then, in the evening, there will be an informal, two-course, sit down meal along with an awards presentation for the first three teams, nearest the pin and the longest drive. There will also be a raffle and auction.

The competition takes place on the 18-hole course with tee off times between 12pm and 2pm.
