Racing Dinner to Welcome Top Jockey

Local residents are invited to join St Richard’s Hospice at a special racing dinner with special guest Colin Brown, top jockey and racing personality.

Colin Brown will join guests at the fundraising event at Worcester Racecourse on Thursday 9th October and will sharehis experiences, weighing room anecdotes and racing tips to help guests spot a winning horse.

Best known for his partnership with the legendary Desert Orchid, on whom he won 17 races from 42 rides, Colin has ridden at all of the top racecourses across the country and on many famous horses, winning a career total of over 400 races. He has competed in steeplechasing’s most high profile and exciting races, including the Grand National eight times, and is now a qualified coach, training the next generation of up and coming young jockeys.

Alison Parkes, Senior Fundraiser for St Richard’s Hospice, said; “This is a great opportunity for anyone keen on horse racing to get together with friends or colleagues over a delicious three course dinner, hear about Colin’s racing career and pick up some tricks of the trade. After the entertaining after dinner speech, people will have the chance to bid for some interesting horse racing related items in a small auction and raffle.”

Tickets cost £30 per person or £300 for a table of ten. To find out more about the event, or to book tickets, please see our Racing Dinner event details.

Funds raised will be divided between St Richard’s Hospice, Worcestershire Hunt and the Injured Jockeys Fund.
