Take on our shop donation challenge!

A hospice team is challenging the community to ‘give up’ 40 items of clothing, bric-a-brac and books in the 40 days of Lent.

St Richard’s Hospice is calling for people to de-clutter and donate unwanted, good quality items to any of its 18 shops as part of its donation challenge.

Participants can get together with friends, family, colleagues – or go it alone – to collect 40 items, dropping them in at a shop before Lent finishes on Thursday, April 18. Lent begins on Wednesday, March 6.

Dan Corns, hospice commercial director, said: “Our shops are powered by the generosity of the community. We are so grateful for the donations we receive.

“Now, we are asking everyone to go that little bit further and challenge themselves to clear-out 40 items and donate them to our shops in 40 days.

“This is a great challenge and could be a fun way to come together with loved ones and colleagues to do something really meaningful for hospice care.”

The hospice’s shops sell a range of items including working electrical goods, books, clothing, bric-a-brac and antiques. It also has four furniture shops, based in Malvern Link, Worcester Lowesmoor, Evesham and Kidderminster.

Once participants have their 40 items ready to donate, they should label their bags ‘St Richard’s Donation Challenge’ and drop it off at their nearest shop.
